Valtech have introduced a new concept to their employees – a flexible creative office room that prompts employees to rearrange and use the room for different purposes. The situation has brought to light a few issues, for example: some people like having their own space or they have hard time working with background noise and more.
The scope of this project is to come up with a digital concept that would make it easier for Valtech's employees to navigate and feel comfortable in this new workspace while also motivating them to come to the office more, rather than work from home.
To address the following issues discovered through the initial user research: the office gets too noisy when people have meetings, it's hard to know who is at the office and when and that it is important to be where your team is - an office map with certain key features was introduced.
The interactive map allows employees to get an overview of the office in real time, including a noise graph that calculates the severity of the noise based on the amount of booked spots/rooms and the meetings that are scheduled for the day.
The interactive map also allows people to book available spots, meeting rooms, or even multiple spots for both them and a co-worker.
This function is extended to their work calendar (which can be connected with Outlook) and it allows for potentially making this dashboard a main organisation channel for Valtech employees.
